Host / Hostess – Restaurant & Hotel Dining

The Northport Hotel is seeking friendly, professional, and hospitality-driven Hosts/Hostesses to join our team. This is an entry-level position with growth potential, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous restaurant experience is required.

As the first and last impression of our restaurant, our hosts play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized guest experience while maintaining the high standards of service our guests have come to expect.

Responsibilities:

Greeting guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage reservations and wait lists using OpenTable
Escort guests to their tables and provide accurate wait times
Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations and inquiries
Communicate effectively with managers and service staff to ensure smooth table flow
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
Help accommodate guest requests while maintaining restaurant standards and reservation policies
Maintain a polished appearance, positive attitude, and professional demeanor at all times
Support the team with additional front-of-house duties as needed
Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented personality
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
Weekend and holiday availability required
Experience with OpenTable is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

We are proud to be the home of our 170 seat casual fine dining restaurant serving lunch, brunch, pre theater and dinner 7 days per week.
